ABOUT OUR INSURANCE SERVICES
1. The Financial Services Authority (FSA)
The FSA is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services. It requires us to give you this document. Use this information to decide if our services are right for you.
2. Whose products do we offer?
We can only offer products from a limited number of insurers for non investment insurance contracts, namely Protected Payments, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), breakdown insurance and some extended motor warranty policies.
If you require clarification please ask us for a list of insurers we offer insurance from.
3. Do we offer motor insurance products?
Swanson Motor Company do not have the authority to advise you on motor insurance and act merely as an introducer for Ford Insure. Please refer to your brochure or call 0800 048 0954 for further information.
4. Who regulates us?Swanson Motor Company is an appointed representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd which is Authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Automotive Compliance Ltd’s FSA Registration number is 497010.
Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permitted business is to act as Principal for a network of motor dealer Appointed Representative’s who sell and arrange non-investment insurance contracts, acting on behalf of the insurer. You can check this on the FSA’s Register by visiting the FSA’s website

5. Ownership
Swanson Motor Company is a family owned dealership and has no financial interest in any of the companies providing any of our insurance products.
6. What personal information is required and how we look after it?
Your insurance is based upon the information provided to the insurance company and you must ensure that all such information is complete and accurate, and that any facts that may influence the insurer’s decision to accept and pay a valid claim are disclosed.
Failure to disclose material information may invalidate your insurance cover and could mean that part, or all, of a claim may not be paid.
All personal information about you will be treated as private and confidential (even when you are no longer a customer), except where the disclosure is made at your request, with your consent, in relation to administering your insurance or where law requires us. As part of the FSA’s duties, we may be asked to provide them with access to our customer records in order that they may carry out a review of our activities.
Some or all of the information you supply to us in connection with your insurance proposal will be held on computer and may be passed to other insurance companies for underwriting and claims purposes. Under the Data Protection Act 1998 you have a right of access to see personal information about you that is held in our records, whether electronically or manually. 7. How much do we charge for our insurance products?
Swanson Motor Company operates a transparent pricing policy with all our insurance products and where a fee or charge is payable you will be advised of it before you commit.
8. What to do if you have a complaint?

If you cannot settle your complaint with us, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
9. Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?
We are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our insurance obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.
Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without any upper limit.
